Studio Brief:
Our Game Studio includes talents from Zynga, EA, Kabam, Kixeye and spreads across Beijing, San Francisco and Vancouver. Our goal is to create multiple top ranked Cross Platform Strategy Games that are well recognized and played worldwide.
Our strategy games take the best elements of massively-multiplayer competition and translate it to all mobile platforms. We are looking for professionals with a real passion for making Strategy games, people who understand that making great Multi-Platform Strategy games is both an art and a science, a balance of innovation and product intuition coupled with metrics-based insights and decision making.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for advancing the state of the company’s statistical machine translation system while working with the different development teams to solve practical problems from the field. The position demands a person who has broad interests and is motivated to design and implement improvements to the company’s system.
The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and be results-oriented. S/he is a highly analytical problem solver, possesses an extremely high level of attention to detail, a deep desire to create an industry-leading product, can work independently as well as collaborate with team members, and can thrive in a start-up environment.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role:
• The whole R&D cycle (collecting/cleaning parallel language corpus, doing different statistical analysis to derive translation models and language modes, tuning different parameters in decoding engine, etc.) for statistical machine translation system.
• Design new algorithms for different purpose (such as improving the engine performance in the game domain).
• Do data analysis for different requirements.
• Write different scripts and tools to support the development teams.
• Maintain production translation system.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of machine translation, probabilistic systems, statistical models.
• Strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning.
• Extensive experience programming in C/C++.
• Proficiency with at least one popular script language, such as Perl or Python.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply a wide range of technologies
• Experience with linguistic and statistical analysis of natural language would be highly desirable.
• Ph.D. or ABD (with graduation in 2014) in CS or relevant areas with 0-2 yrs. working experience, or MS with more years’ experience in NLP
• Experience in designing and running machine translation experiments using Moses a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
