SUMMARY  
    
Device Team at Hulu Beijing is looking for a strong Principal Software Developer or Architect, who will help us define the next generation of Hulu client architecture across different platforms. The platforms we focus on including, but not limited to, mobile devices (Android, iOS), Living Room devices (dozen of Smart TV and Settop box), desktop app (Windows, and Mac), and latest VR devices. It’s a big challenge for us to provide a common solution for all devices in purpose of fast development and deployment unified user experiences, while maximize each platform specific strength. The candidate will proactively participle in all discussions of above problems, use his/her board knowledge and rich experience to find the best balance point, and deliver end to end solutions.   Beside of that, we also expect the candidate contributing in areas, like 1) big data driven based user experience or performance improvement, which includes client data/metrics collection, statistics based data analysis, and A/B test technologies, 2) backend or web design, which could be a part of end to end client solution, 2) cross platform automation test framework, which can simplify daily operation effort.   The candidate shall have successful experience in defining architect of big and complex apps in multiple platforms. It will be nice to have, if he/she has successful experience in driving disruptive features to be released in production.  
        
WHAT YOU’LL DO  
    
Define the next generation of Hulu’s client architect, which includes finding gaps in current system, and put forward simple, flexible, scalable E2E solution independently.  
Sale design to US team by writing well structure design document, or arranging effective presentation.  
Lead several sub-project’s design and coding in parallel inside team.  
Coach junior or even Sr engineers through strictly design/code review. As a super technical star, work with manager to improve the whole team’s skill.  
Be a role model in best practice of engineering, and use smart automation solutions to reduce the effort in daily operation.  
Lead team’s innovation by contributing disruptive new idea/feature himself, or encouraging others to do that.  
       
WHAT TO BRING  
    
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Master’s is a plus  
Rich and successful experience in delivering big/complex E2E solutions across different platforms.  
Successful experience in converting disruptive features to a real product.  
A strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including Object Oriented Programming  
Broad cross-disciplinary development experience, including experience with test-driven development  
In-depth knowledge of web-service/data-driven application architecture. A good sense of what goes into making a successful consumer product  
The ability to jump into a project and contribute immediately to both architecture and implementation  
Great communication and collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic  
8+ years of experience
