Amazon.com International Technology Database Team is currently looking
for a
talented Oracle database administrator with 3+ years experience for
its Beijing
office. This DBA will deliver in operations and engineering excellence
for
Amazon Retail Customer Experience and International Retail databases.
The
ideal candidate will divide their time between Oracle Database work
and
working on Data Analytics for Infrastructure and Availability projects
reaching
beyond the database domain. Knowledge of Systems, Infrastructure, Data
Centers, and Operational Excellence will be key. Excellent
interpersonal
communication skills are required. Successful candidates will have
strong
leadership skills, technical project management skills, and the
ability to maintain
high availability Oracle databases.

Responsibilities:
Maintain development and production of high availability database
environments
Database & application( SQL & PL/SQL ) performance tuning
Database backup and recovery
Root cause analysis of production-related Linux and database issues
Perform 24/7 production databases support.
Knowledge of Oracle internals
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Review, design, and develop data models in conjunction with the
application development teams
Design, develop, and implement Oracle database instances for the
development
and production environments
BI/Data warehouse experience
Exceptional SQL reporting skills required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years relevant experience
Fluency in Oracle DB technologies and tools, DB development
Strong query and database tuning skills
Experience with database backups and remote disaster recovery
Administration Linux servers, and storage
Experience in supporting internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in a 24X7 production environment On-call support
BI/Data warehouse experience
Exceptional SQL reporting skills required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Project Management experience and interest a big plus
Knowledge and experience with Systems, Infrastructure, and Data
Centers a big plus
Experience with multiple database platforms is a plus
Quantifiable success as a Oracle DBA
Passion for learning and using new technologies
Thrives in fast-paced, innovative environment
Thorough understanding of hardware performance, memory, and I/O
Scripting languages a plus

It is reasonable to expect 10~50% increase basing on your current
salary(not a promise).
