Data mining powers all decision making in Bing to improve relevance, performance, user experience and business. You will be part of a very strong and fun team, conducting development, analysis, and experiments, building very large scale data infrastructure, developing advanced and practical data mining, machine learning, statistics, and measurement techniques for solving the hottest and most challenging problems in the world and generating real impact. Job Responsibilities:
The Data Mining team in ASG East Asia is hiring an extremely talented, highly motivated and productive software development engineer. As a member of our Data Mining team, you will build efficient and very large scale software solution to process extremely large amounts of data to serve the varying needs of the Bing organization and Applications and Services Group (ASG) in Microsoft.

Data is critical to the success of modern online services, and our techniques and systems are the key part of the data foundation of Bing and ASG. Our data is used heavily by many feature teams for their development and measurement, including search relevance, index, user experience, ads, and Office 365. Our main challenges are to effectively and efficiently process very large scale data which changes frequently, to make the processed data available fast, to discover information quickly, and to put it into action. We develop advanced and practical techniques to make this happen. You will play a critical role in solving these problems with your strong engineering and analytical skills. You will also be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership to other team members.

This Data Mining team is effectively part of a bigger ASG Shared Data team located in Both Bellevue, WA, USA and Beijing. You will be part of this very strong and fun team, building very large scale data system. You will have opportunities to work with other parts of the Data Mining team on conducting development, analysis, and experiments, developing advanced and practical data mining, machine learning, statistics, and measurement techniques for solving the hottest and most challenging problems in the world and generating real impact. Job Responsibilities include:
-Process huge amounts of data by using data mining, statistics, and database techniques
-Participate in the architecture design and development
-Work with other teams to understand their data needs, and design and implement solutions to them. Act as an expert in the area of data mining/machine learning/statistics to serve the fast growing needs of Bing Search and Office 365
-Build high quality data mining/analysis solutions to provide data and information needs.
-Research and explore technologies in the areas of data mining, machine learning, text mining, bot/spam traffic identification and filtering, etc.
-Develop techniques/algorithms/measurement for the research and analysis work mentioned above.

Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to have following qualifications:
-Strong expertise and experience on large scale platform design and development with a track record of shipping multiple releases.
-Expert knowledge in .NET, C#, C++, SQL, and Windows – Deep understanding of efficient data structures and algorithms and excellent analytical skills
-Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: data mining, web mining, machine learning, statistics, user modeling, databases, data warehousing, OLAP, data processing , measurement, parallel and distributed computation
-Experience with test driven software design/development is a plus
-Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems.
-Attention to detail and data accuracy.
-Bachelor degree in computer science or a related field is required. Master’s or Ph.D. in data mining/machine learning/statistics/databases or a related field is preferred.
